Oregon's Greatest National Disasters

Bill Sullivan and family at Kahneeta in 1985. This was Bill's rest stop on his 1,361 mile journey across Oregon.
Join author Bill Sullivan on Friday, April 19 for earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, tsunamis, and fierce storms in the…welcoming, casual atmosphere of the Warm Springs Health & Prevention Resource Center and Library.

Librarian and Community Read committee member, Craig Graham, has requested that Bill do a slideshow presentation based on his book, “Oregon’s Greatest Natural Disasters.” Published in 2008, this book tells the dramatic story of the floods, earthquakes, forest fires, eruptions, and tsunamis that

have shaped Oregon and impacted people over the past 13,000 years. Its final chapter is a hypothetical look at Oregon’s readiness for future natural disasters. Are you ready?

Craig has also been working with Bill’s notes and maps to recreate a virtual Google Earth tour of his journey across Oregon, as chronicled in his book “Listening for Coyote: a walk across Oregon’s wilderness.” This classic book recounts the adventure of Bill’s 1,361 mile solo backpacking trek in 1985. The public can see this journey projected at Bill’s presentation in Warm Springs, and at the Art Adventure Gallery in Madras.

eBooks $4.99
Just for Jefferson County, Bill has reduced the cost of ebooks but only until April 23. Both books are available in Kindle format from Amazon.com, and in all other formats from SmashWords.com.
